What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Account Information

We collect information about you when you register interest for a service, send a request for consultation, get in touch through the contact form or make purchases through our online eCommerce platforms.

Payment Information

We collect certain payment and billing information when you register for certain paid services. You might also provide payment information, such as bank account, mobile money number, payment card details, electronic wallet account details, which we collect via secure payment processing services.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

We collect personal information relating to you when you contact us through the contact forms on this website. This information may include your name, email and your phone number. We will use this information to respond to your request and also market to you services that might be of specific interest and value to you on the basis of your request.

Newsletter

We use a third party provider to deliver our newsletter. As a part of its services, the service provider gathers statistics around email opening and clicks using industry-standard technologies. We select our processors carefully to ensure they also provide sufficient data protection guarantees under relevant data protection legislation. If you no longer wish to receive marketing emails or newsletters from us, you have the right to ask us to stop processing your personal data for direct marketing purposes. Just send an email to info@ricasi-consultancy.co.ke with ‘UNSUBSCRIBE’ in the subject line or just click the Unsubscribe button in the newsletter email you received from us.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. In case of a data breach, system administrators will immediately take all needed steps to ensure system integrity, will contact affected users and will attempt to reset passwords if needed.
